I show you how to acid etch a stainless steel lock blade knife using ferric chloride. Ferric Chloride is commonly used for etching the copper off PCBs (printed circuit boards) for electronics. I make my design with acrylic paint pens so I get good detail. It is far better than using fingernail polish.
Be very cautious the ferric chloride acid will etch metal, eyes, clothing and skin. Wear goggles and rubber gloves as well as other protective clothing. Also Etch in a well ventilated area.
