Knowing the difference between ANSI and the European 388 scale is important as you need to know how much protection you’re getting.
A 3 on the European scale is not a 3 on the ANSI scale; it’s less cut resistant. On the EN 388 there’s 4 categories: abrasion, cut, tear, puncture.
For ordinary work gloves, 3M has a proprietary gripping material that is micro replicated, allowing you exert 30% less pressure on a wet substrate to get a grip, and 60% less pressure to get a grip on an oily substrate. Two versions include an all black, and one that’s lighter and has padding on the knuckles for extra protection.
