Hyundai Xcent vs Honda Amaze Video Comparison
This video description covers exterior, interiors, drive handling, engine specs and much more.
Exteriors:
Honda Amaze is peppy and energetic car, which is slowly making its pace in the Indian market, while Hyundai Xcent is more of a style and looks. Hyundai Xcent is based on Grand i10, while Honda Amaze is inspired from Honda Brio. Both the cars resemble the counterpart right up to the C pillar. Amaze gets the same character lines on the body of Brio with similar headlamps. There are minor tweaks to the front bumper of Amaze. The front of the car is largely same, except the fully body colored bumper and the twin winged chrome slats on the grille. On the other hand, Hyundai cars are known for styling, it is equipped with high-intensity headlamps, the radiator grille in chrome is engraved with company’s logo. The trapezoidal air dam surrounded by chrome lining. The boot of the Xcent is very well designed and it doesn’t look odd. The tail lamps of Xcent look small as compared to Amaze and overall rear look doesn’t match the front. Hyundai Xcent is slightly better due to its fluidic design.
Interiors:
Now coming to the interiors, Both cars have come with black and beige color scheme. Hyundai Xcent top end model gets nifty features like rear AC, chilled glove box and automatic climate control. The Dash on the Xcent is better laid out compared to the Honda Amaze. Honda Amaze gets Brio like interior with nothing much to differentiate, except for the infotainment system and added legroom and headroom at the rear. The infotainment system of both the cars supports USB, Bluetooth, Aux-in. The 3 spoke steering mounted controls are present in top end model of both the cars. Coming to the Space, both the cars offers almost same space, but the Hyundai Xcent is slightly more comfortable since the rear bench is reclined at an angle. Xcent comes with 407 litres of boot space, whereas Amaze has 400 litres of boot space.
Engine and Performance :
Petrol trims of both the cars need to push hard to any sort of power out. Both i vtec and Kappa2 have their own strength. The 1.5 i dtec engine on Amaze is definitely more comfortable and fun to drive. The turbo lack in Amaze is as evident as compared to Xcent and power delivery is extremely linear. The diesel engine of Amaze is clattered with very loud and it makes it felt to the passenger all the time. Xcent is quite among the two.
Behind the steering the power is evident in Amaze, there is a minimal lack in the Amaze and par delivery is quite lenient. Xcent steering wheel is slightly light at high speed. Hence, Honda is more fun to drive and Hyundai is more comfortable on the move.
Verdict:
We would pick Hyundai Xcent because it is better equipped, more comfortable and light steering.
