  • I used Stampin’ Up’s From the Herd stamp set and colored them with alcohol markers. I outlined them with Rusty Hinge by Distress Inks but didn’t like it, so I cut the entire image out (with the exception of the little birdie on top of the buffalo.) I used 10″ x 7″ burnt orange cardstock and scored the 10″ length at 5″ to make the card a total of 5″ x 7″. I cut a big oval in the center of the front of the card with a set of cutting tools from Creative Memories. I used balloons from the From the Herd stamp set and stamped them around the oval. I stamped the sentiment above the oval that said “just looking in on you” and put acetate behind the oval with tape runner. I cut a piece of green and white polka dot paper and placed it behind my cut out animals and adhered the animals with tape runner. I put foam tape on the back of the card surrounding the acetate and then laid my polka dot paper on the foam tape. I had to add another piece of polka dot paper to completely cover the back of the card as my first piece wasn’t positioned to make sure it covered the inside half of the card. I used Handsome Hunter by Stampin’ Up ink and a speckled stamp and stamped around the front of the card (covering the acetate with the paper I cut from the oval.) I stamped the inside of the card with Happy Birthday from the Herd stamp set. I colored my balloons with vibrant colors and then drew the strings for the balloons onto the acetate and into the animals mouths and behind them. I really liked the way this card came out and hope you do as well.

products used was sandpaper, metal pot cleaner, dish washing gloves, krud kutter: must for rust 32oz, and spray paint.

day 1: 5 hours of krud kutter, day 2: 5 hours of krud kutter. final conclusion? watch the video :D

final thoughts and suggestions: overall, krud kutter might be a great product, i know for sure it works for other type of rusts and metals. i am not trying to bash on their product or anything, i am just showing what i’ve experimented through and its conclusion. maybe, i used the product wrong or maybe i applied it for too long. thus, dont get the conclusion on your head that this krud kutter is unaffected on rust. my suggestion to you if you’re thinking of getting used rusted weight plates is that if you are willing to take the time to clean them then get them. if you ask me if i would do it all over again, i would simply say, no! first, the time, its too time consuming, i really think opportunity cost will apply here and you will be better of spending a little extra on clean plates rather than wasting lots of time cleaning them. 2nd, the damages and other products i had to dish out is costly, in this experiment, i ruined the sink tub, few clothing and wasted and bought, paper towels, cleaning products. overall, the cost will come near the extra dough for newer plates. finally, the baneful and God knows what chemicals i had to inhale while trying to get them usable. i had the house smelling like spray paint and rotten eggs for 3 days since I had to clean “16 plates.” all in all, i do kinda regret getting these plates, however, after i’ve spend hours getting them right, it came out pretty pretty good ! :D

thanks for reading this, and thanks for watching, if u haven’t then Watch ! :D
